MassBlocker Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

MassBlocker ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android app that helps you block distracting apps until you complete a real-world unlock action. This policy explains what the app accesses, why, and what happens to your data. It is written to be read — not to bury the important parts.

The short version: MassBlocker does its core work on your device. It needs certain Android permissions to block apps, but the information those permissions expose stays on your device and is used only to make blocking work. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build a profile of you.

Who we are

MassBlocker is operated by Epyphite Pte. Ltd., Singapore. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

The permissions we use and why

Accessibility Service. MassBlocker uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when you open an app you've chosen to block, and to show the lock screen over it. This is the mechanism that makes blocking possible. MassBlocker does not use the Accessibility Service to read the content of your screen, collect the text you type, capture passwords, or monitor what you do inside any app. It uses it only to know which app has come to the foreground so it can enforce the blocks you set.

Usage Access (UsageStatsManager). MassBlocker uses Usage Access to see which apps are running in the foreground, so it can apply your block rules and enforce cooldowns. This tells the app which app is open — not what you do inside it. This usage information is processed on your device to enforce blocking and is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Both permissions are used solely to deliver the app's blocking function. You can revoke either at any time in Android settings, though the app cannot block apps without them.

What data stays on your device

  • The list of apps you've chosen to block
  • Your unlock rules (QR codes, cooldown settings, daily caps, PIN if you set one)
  • Your lock and unlock history
  • Which apps are currently in the foreground (used momentarily to enforce blocks, not retained as a history sent to us)

If you never create an account, MassBlocker functions entirely on your device and sends us no personal data.

What data we do collect

Account information (Pro users). If you upgrade to Pro, we collect the email address you use to create your account, so we can link your Pro entitlement to your device(s) and enable family sharing.

Purchase information (Pro users). Pro is purchased through Stripe, our payment processor, on the web. Stripe handles your payment-card details directly — we never see or store your card number. We receive confirmation of your purchase and a customer reference.

Family sharing (if you use it). If you invite family members, we process the invite and the accounts that accept it. We store the household link, not the contents of anyone's usage.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, the content of your screen, or what you do inside other apps.

How we use data

  • Provide and enforce the blocking features you set up
  • Activate and manage your Pro subscription and family sharing
  • Respond to your support requests

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data is shared only with:

  • Stripe, to process Pro payments.
  • Our hosting/infrastructure providers, to run the account and entitlement service.

Data security

Data transmitted between the app and our services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Account and entitlement data held on our servers is access-controlled. On-device data is protected by Android's app sandboxing.

Data retention and deletion

On-device data lives on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account and subscription data is retained while your account is active.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will delete your account data, subject to any records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons. Uninstalling the app removes on-device data.

Children

MassBlocker is intended for use by adults (including parents managing family devices). It is not directed at children under 13. Where a parent uses family sharing to manage a minor's device, the parent is the account holder.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects or how we use it, we will update this policy and its "last updated" date, and update our Play Store Data safety declaration to match.
